Supporting Idlewild

I wasn`t sure how Brassy would go down with the Idlewild crowd, they would be coming expecting rock. How would they respond to punk/pop/hip hop? This was such a strange experience like when Mogwai supported the Manics and blew them and the crowd away. During the more punkier songs the some of the crowd went into a mosh frenzy which took me totally by surprise. But then when the dancier tunes kicked in they stood around stunned like rabbits in hiphop headlights bemused by our dancing (especially from main man J:L who is disco king!). There were a few crap sexist comments from some of the scum in the crowd but these were brilliantly put down by one cool person. Whoever you were you're a star!

And then it was the main act Idlewild. It was quite an energetic set with their new stuff being a lot more melodic than that from the first album proper. They weren't as good as when I saw them last at the Wulfren but I still enjoyed it a lot. It`s a shame that the crowd couldn`t have taken to Brassy more but it looked like they picked up a few converts to the Brassy way!
