Scenes
From Our Campsite
You
know when summer is here when you start planning for Glasto. This
year we decided to go on Wednesday evening instead of having to
get up really early on Thursday morning. Me and Matt were the brave
people to do this with Simon and Mark joining us the day after.
We expected it to be quiet but it was quite the opposite and parked
the car just a 5 mins away from our annual site, however getting
to the entrance involved a long walk and took nearer half an hour
to get to the site! We set up all the tents including the Wolverhampton
crew who were also coming on Thursday and spent the rest of the
day an night relaxing. Mark and Simon arrived later than planned
as they had managed to be put in an even worse carpark than ours
at the opposite
side
of Glastonbury!! I met up with Ceri and Dan who had come from Cardiff
without too much trouble for a change. Hmmm, now it was a bit much
to expect perfect weather like last year but unfortunately the rain
didn`t keep off totally which I discovered to my cost when I helped
Simon get the last provisions for his car. We got absolutely soaked
and the whole journey took even longer with us having to keep finding
shelter and that his stuff weighed a ton or something. Especially
after my wood lugging exercise earlier. After someone nicked our
wood last year I made sure that my labour wouldn't be in vain this
time. All my firemaking skills were needed to make the fire as the
wood was soaking wet although it was a bit smokey. Surprise of the
weekend was the appearance of Anna who we didn't know was coming
after deciding to come at the last minute.

Campsite Games:
-
The
Spotlight game, pick on someone walking past your site and shine
your torches at them so they are in the spotlight. Follow them
with your torches until you get a reaction.
-
The
you'll have someone's eye out with that game. At random times
during the evening get out your torch and shine it in somebody's
face. To this they should reply "You'll have someone's eye
out with that". Repeat forever.
-
The
lets see how far we can kick cheesy biscuit sandwich things without
them disintegrating or getting in each others tents.

Funniest
thing to happen over the weekend
A
girl coming to our site asking to borrow a torch so she could find her
tent. After giving her his torch Matt had mine and quickly went after
her to help her find the tent. After spending ages finding it came the
immortal words that she wasn't even sure it was even in this field.
Hmmmm.
