Not
only was this my first Glasto it was also my first ever music festival
and was I in for a baptism of fire or what? Arriving there on Thursday
morning we picked our camp site pretty quickly and managed to pitch our
tents in a dry spell before it began to rain. After that we huddled in
out tents as it was so cold, I havn`t
felt that cold ever and this was with all my cloths on and putting on
my sleeping bag. After a few hours we dared to go outside and check out
the Glasto site. The first impression was how huge it was, we knew we
would be in for a lot of walking over the weekend. Our site was relatively
mud free but the rest of the site was a mud bath and was so thick in places
you had to wade through. The first few days were not too bad as it was
still fluid but later on as it started to dry it became stickier and harder
to lift your feet out of. I swear that when I got back home my leg muscles
were twice as big!
 The
main headliners Radiohead were amazing, I was completely spell bound by
their whole performance. Before they came on we had to endure the awful
Ocean Colour Scene and to bide the time we had a peanut fight! Then one
of my friends noticed how one of their new songs sounded like one of their
old ones (ha, no surprise there!) so we sung the irritating chorus of
that song to this one to annoy all the OCS fans around us although one
of them thought it was hilarious!
Of
the other bands I enjoyed Gorky`s Zygotic Mynci [For
review and photos click here], Super Furry Animals, Placebo, Geneva,
Symposium (mud fight special!). Bands that were disappointing Smashing
Pumpkins. And bands that were shite OCS & Prodigy.
 Highlight
- Gorky`s playing Blood Chant.
Lowlight
- Second stage sinking in the mud which meant that all the early bands
on Friday couldn`t play and so this meant I missed Kenickie.
