Venus In Furs

Mini review - Tap 'n Spile, Darlington Jan 2000

It was time for the Pop Underground to go on the road and Darlington's own Venus In Furs at their first home gig since their rousing London debut supporting VyVyan. The venue was the Tap 'n Spile and the support was provided by Comatose who played out to a packed out venue. They played a great set, the second half of which was fantastic. They also treated us to a radically different version of Stevie Wonder's Sunshine Of My Life!

Then it was the turn of Venus In Furs to delight us with punk, pop and anarchy! The set was disrupted with a series of technical problems but with songs as good a these it didn't matter at all. They opened with Where's My Limo and finished with my fave Teenpop riot.
