NewsIt's a shame when bands call it a day but unfortunately VyVyan have called it a day after their tour in America. However we now have one final VyVyan track to enjoy thanks to Abuse Records. The Abuse Your Friends 3 compilation features an exclusive VyVyan track. Their new album Teenage Wannabes was released in America on January 17th 2000 and it's a compilation of VyVyan's early singles plus one exclusive track All Made Up. The version of Teenage Wannabe is different on the same titled single. It`s available on CD and 10" pink vinyl. Get it on Mail Order now.
Pure lo-fi punk pop - doesn`t even come close to the brilliance that is VyVyan. How I came across them was like all the best stories was totally by chance. It was the first day of the Reading festival when a nice person handed me a flyer for a band I had never heard of but sounded really cool. I turned up at the DrMartins stage on the Sunday not knowing what to expect and I was really taken back. I didn`t know any of the songs but it sounded really fresh and full of energy that you couldn`t help but love it. Even some not very nice comments from some people in the audience could not spoil a great afternoon (go back home and listen to your safe and boring OCS collection). After I finally got a contact address (thanks to PopGirl fanzine) I eagerly sent off for a copy of Teenage Wannabe from Sid Abuse at Abuse Records and got my hands on the Abuse Your Friends LP with the infamous hidden VyVyan track What You Want.
